I started making babydolls and tried all the sorts of materials, but when I finally made my first doll out of porcelain I instantly learnt that it was the material I had looking for. It is the most noble material for me and I worked with it for about ten years, but the possibilities became less. You can't make every attitude you want. That is why I started the last years also to work with polymer clay. For making babies it is fantastic realistic What draws me to making dolls of babies and little children is the innocence in their faces, the big wondered eyes, so curious, still so much to learn.

These expressions is what I seek for in sculpting, that is what I try to capture in my work. The last couple of years I focus on refining the details, for example, ears, hands and feet. What is also important is the carriage and posture of the body. The entire body arms legs can be positioned in almost every posture, always resulting in a natural pose. When you have one of the babies in your arms it actually feels like a real baby. But also my small babies about 10 inches, give an emotion, just to look at them, the little hands and legs, all details worked out, the way are laying on a cushion, you feel touched. I hope that you can see in my dolls, that I make them with a lot of joy and that they are really little children to me.

I taught dollmaking for about 12 years, but it took to much time and so I didn’t have time anymore to develop myself, so I stopped doing that and that was afterwards a good choice. In the beginning of the year I choose my favourite exhibitions and than I have to work very hard to make an new collection for each show. I have no assistants, I make everything myself: sculpting, molds, clothes. I think that is necessary, to create a harmony.

I visited Moscow five times, and it was always very impressive.
Actually it is not far away from me, but I have always the idea that I am in a totally different world. It is very good that we can meet each other now more easily, and get in touch each other. What I like the most is Moscou in the snow, I can imagine that the people who lives there are not always so happy with the cold and the snow, but for me it is like a fairytale. Banks and lanterns in the street, and all covered with a blanket of snow, it's wonderful! And, of course, beautiful buildings. I look forward to come in Moscow many times and I hope to show there my new collections.
